What wonderful day it was to welcome my debut picture book, SEVEN GOLDEN RINGS, into the world!! Despite the presence of a global pandemic, I managed to celebrate with family and friends!
SEVEN GOLDEN RINGS is set in ancient India and is the story of a boy named Bhagat who wants to pull his family out of poverty by earning a place in the rajah’s court as a singer. The story involves a math puzzle and an explanation of binary numbers!
First, I discussed the book in a webinar with my editor, Cheryl Klein:
Then, two blog posts published detailing some of my thoughts about SEVEN GOLDEN RINGS:
On Jena Benton’s blog, I answered seven questions about SEVEN GOLDEN RINGS:
And on the Soaring 20s Blog, I reflected on my dual careers in medicine and publishing:
And then, in the evening, I had a fabulous time at my virtual book launch with Silver Unicorn Books! It was wonderful to see so many familiar names and wonderful comments and questions! Fabulous Hayley Barrett hung out with me, and we had a special guest—my son Joe, who loved music and math from when he was little (and was inspired by picture books like ONE GRAIN OF RICE and ON BEYOND A MILLION), and is now a pre-med statistics major in college! I was honored to have the launch so well-attended, and I promise that there will be an EPIC post-pandemic party next year!
